On March 27th , Prime Minister and Minister of State, Xavier Bettel was greeted by his Chinese counterpart, Li Keqiang. During the one on one meeting, discussions focused on bilateral relations as well as major international and current issues.
“China and Luxembourg are partners in many fields and have excellent relations,” said the Luxembourg Prime Minister. He added: “The presence of a Luxembourg delegation at the Boao Forum for Asia testifies to the quality of our relations and the purpose of this participation in the forum is to deepen them further, particularly in the economic, financial and logistics fields. ”
Following the interview, the two heads of government witnessed the signing of several agreements.
The first agreement signed was a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation under the Belt and Road initiative. “The signing of this agreement represents a new stage in the development of Sino-Luxembourg relations and our cooperation in economic, commercial, academic and cultural activities as well as research and development,” declared Xavier Bettel at the signing ceremony.
The signing of four agreements between the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, the Shanghai Clearing House and the Bank of China, respectively, aimed at deepening cooperation between the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and the other signatories.
