On June 23th, Luxembourg celebrates its National Day. On this occasion, a reception was organized by the Embassy in Beijing and by the Consulate General in Shanghai on June 20 and 21 respectively.
This year’s National Day had an additional touch, as the Reception in Shanghai was honoured by the presence of Mr. Dan Kersch, Minister of Sport of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. In his speech, Minister Kersch praised the friendship between the people of China and the people of Luxembourg. A special focus was given on the people to people connectivity which is developed by exchanges and cooperation in fields like education, research, culture, tourism… and sports.
The Beijing Reception was the occasion to celebrate 40 years of the Residence of the Luxembourg Ambassador in China.
In Beijing, renowned Luxembourg chef Anne Faber prepared Tastes of Luxembourg for the guests, while in Shanghai, delicious cakes and chocolates from NB Chocolate House were served. Link to pictures
