Luxembourg ranks first in a global ranking of humanitarian donations published by the Overseas Development Institute (ODI). Luxembourg stands out as the most generous country in the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development).
The survey covers the 30 rich countries that make up the OECD’s Development Assistance Committee (DAC). The index has been calculated according to three criteria: whether the aid meets a real need, whether it helps to solve problems that can only be solved through global cooperation and, finally, if a small part of the assistance is linked to the commercial and strategic interests of the donor.
