On October 18th , François Bausch, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, as well as Dan Kersch, Minister of Sports and Alain Duschene, Chief of Staff of the Luxembourg Army, went to meet the National delegation in Wuhan. The Minister of Sports took this opportunity to encourage the Luxembourg athletes engaged in the first competitions of these games to which Luxembourg has delegated not less than 16 athletes of the army engaged in 10 different sports disciplines.
Luxembourg Athlete, Bob Bertemes, won a bronze medal at 2019 Military World Games in Wuhan, China on October 22, 2019.
It was the 7th World Military Games being organized, 110 countries were represented and about 10,000 participants competing.
